We understand that many clients will not have booked a band before, so we’ve attempted to cover many common questions here.

Will you learn a song for our first dance?

How many musicians will be in the band?

This is assessed on a case-by-case basis, as some songs are considerably more challenging than others and will require more rehearsal time.

Ministry of Tone typically perform as a 4 piece (person) band comprising vocals/guitar, drums, bass and keyboard. Smaller bands may be available for some dates by prior arrangement.

Can we have some input into the play list?

We welcome advice on the type of music you would like to have played at different times during the event, but also ask that you allow the band a free hand to choose the right song for the right moment.

How long will you play and what happens during breaks?

The band performs 3 x 45 minute sets, with 15 minute breaks between sets. We provide suitable music (either background or music suitable for dancing, depending on the event) to be played during band breaks.

What do we need to provide for the band?

We will need standard household power readily available from where the band will be performing, to plug in instruments and PA system.

The band supply their own sound system for events of up to 150 people. Larger events will require professional PA hire at additional cost, which we can arrange if desired.

Meals are required when the band are required to be on site for more than four hours total.

Are there any extra costs?

No - there will be no surprise costs after the fact. All costs including any travel expenses will be worked out prior to your confirmation of booking.

Can we request songs?

Absolutely - if the band knows a song you or your guests request on the night, we will do our best to perform it for you.

What will the band members wear?

The band will typically dress smart casual, as shown in our videos, unless a specific theme is required, in which case we will do our best to adhere as closely as possible to your theme.
